Roberto Firmino: Liverpool have a ‘good chance’ of beating Manchester United

Liverpool’s Roberto Firmino believes his side have a “good chance” of beating Manchester United on Sunday if they put in a similar performance to the one that earned them a 3-3 draw against Arsenal last week.

Firmino received the Man of the Match award against Arsenal after scoring two goals in the clash.

Man United have won the last three matches between the two sides but Firmino insisted his side are capable of securing all three points against their fierce rivals.

“Manchester United are a big team and I know how big this derby is here,” Firmino said.

“We have to be 100 per cent focused. If we do as well as we did up front [against Arsenal] against them, we have a good chance to win on Sunday.”

It will be interesting to see how each side sets up in the clash as United are also heading to Anfield on the back of a 3-3 draw against Newcastle United.

Louis van Gaal will likely want much more ‘control’ in what will be a hostile atmosphere. Whatever he decides to do, van Gaal needs a positive result as defeat against Liverpool would leave United in a precarious position in the Premier League.
