AC Milan are still keen on signing Manchester United’s Marouane Fellaini, according to Sky Sports.
Milan have been linked with a move for Fellaini for a number of weeks but the Italian club may baulk at Man United’s £19m asking price.
Adriano Galliani, Milan’s joint chief executive, is reportedly set to meet with Fellaini’s agent Luciano D’Onofrio this week. Milan would prefer for any potential deal to be a loan this month.
Fellaini played a key role in United’s winner against Liverpool last time out but he was otherwise underwhelming in the game and also in recent weeks.
In his defence, he has been playing in an unusual central midfield role but it is clear that, if United are to move forward in terms of playing style, Fellaini will not fit in.
That being said, would it be unwise of United to let him go without getting an adequate replacement in first as the squad is currently short on numbers? That’s probably the main defence for being against a potential transfer out of the team.
Regardless of that, these links with AC Milan aren’t going away. So, either the club genuinely is interested or somebody else is pushing the case.
