Transfer Roundup: Everton set £65m asking price for Romelu Lukaku

Here is the latest Manchester United transfer news and rumours.

Reports on Wednesday suggested that Everton have slapped a £65m price tag on rumoured Manchester United target Romelu Lukaku.

The Belgian striker has been in superb form this season having already scored 19 goals in all competitions this term.

Man United should be able to offer Lukaku the Champions League football he reportedly desires but Everton are determined to keep their prize asset and they are hoping the price tag will put off potential suitors.

In terms of strikers with potential, there aren’t many better than 22-year-old Lukaku who already has 50 Premier League goals to his name.

Meanwhile, United are said to have sent scouts to watch Benfica’s 18-year-old midfielder Renato Sanches for the third time in two weeks.

Sanches has established himself as a key member of Benfica’s side despite his tender age and United are reportedly keeping their eye on him.

Finally, Jermaine Jenas provided a curveball this week as he suggested that United should be one of a number of clubs looking to sign former Tottenham Hotspur forward Emmanuel Adebayor. It’s safe to say that Louis van Gaal will not be interested as Adebayor has had high profile bust-ups with clubs in the past.
