Paris Saint-Germain front-runners for Renato Sanches – report

Manchester United are keen on Benfica’s 18-year-old midfielder Renato Sanches but Paris Saint-Germain are closer to making a big-money bid, according to reports.

Man United reportedly sent their scouts to watch the youngster in action for the third time in two weeks recently.

The club have been sent back glowing reports but they may baulk at Benfica’s asking price. PSG are said to be closer to making a move for Sanches but Portuguese football writer Jan Hagen believes he will stay at Benfica:

Sanches is clearly a talented prospect having established himself as a key member of Benfica’s side aged just 18.

However, a lot can happen over the course of the player’s development and it would be a gamble for United to spend big on him.

That being said, United brought in Anthony Martial in the summer for a rumoured fee of £36m and the Frenchman is now regarded to be one of the team’s most important players.
