It has emerged that Tottenham Hotspur have a first refusal option on Gareth Bale until 30th June 2019 should Real Madrid receive a bid for the Welshman from the Premier League.
Football Leaks recently published the full contract signed by Spurs and Madrid for the transfer of Bale in 2013.
The document reveals that Bale is the world’s most expensive player as Madrid paid Spurs over €100m for his services.

But an interesting part of the contract also reveals that Spurs have the option to match any offer coming from a Premier League side until 2019. Madrid must notify Spurs of the offer and the London club would then have 72 hours to decide whether or not to match it.
It is interesting news for Manchester United, who have been strongly linked with a move for Bale.
However, it is unlikely that Spurs would be able to match any potential bid from Man United anyway as Bale would command a fee upwards of £80m. In any case, Madrid have been hit with a transfer ban and will be reluctant to sell one of their star players.
