Victor Valdes is expected to be in attendance at Standard Liege’s game against Gent on Sunday night and will complete his loan move to the Belgian side very soon.
He was believed to have undergone a medical on Saturday and so long as that was passed OK – there hasn’t been any indication to the contrary – then his move can be finalised.
The 34-year-old will join on a loan deal but will almost certainly leave United on a permanent deal at the end of the season, so long as he can find a new club to join.
Still no official announcement of Victor Valdes loan deal. Player is expected to attend Standard-AA Gent today. #MUFC

The sooner Valdes leaves United the better. It’s all been a bit of a joke in terms of how it has developed between Louis van Gaal and him and, as I’ve said previously, it’s an embarrassing situation for all parties involved.
While Standard Liege is far from the level of football Valdes would expect to be playing given what he has done previously in his career, it’s surely better than doing nothing at United and having no chance of playing first-team football at all.
