Adnan Januzaj showed a selfish side to his game tonight playing for Manchester United’s U21s against Sunderland.
The winger made mincemeat of Sunderland’s defenders and was head and shoulders above them in terms of ability but his final decision making left a lot to be desired.
On numerous occasions, Januzaj decided to take a shot on himself instead of looking up to find a team-mate when that was the better decision to make.
He was probably trying to impress but I don’t think that was the right way to go about it. Here’s what a few other fans thought about his performance:
Quiet start for #mufc u21. Varela impressing against Greendwood so far.
Januzaj playing well too.

Januzaj hits the outside of the near post direct from a corner.

Januzaj looking purposeful and ambitious again. Pereira subdued so far. #mufc

Januzaj is exactly what wingers should be all about. Pace, trickery, taking people on – and goals.

For all his skill and ability Januzaj's decision making has been very childish tonight

Januzaj almost found it so easy to drift past defenders with his pace and dribbling that he got complacent and decided to pepper Sunderland’s goal with shots whenever he could. It also looked like he was trying to score directly from corners.
He probably felt he had a point to prove after his return at the weekend against Southampton led to their eventual winner after he conceded a cheap free-kick, but he wouldn’t be able to be that selfish in the first-team.
