Here is the latest Manchester United transfer news and gossip.

Man United have reportedly identified Barcelona goalkeeper Claudio Bravo as a potential replacement for David de Gea should the shot-stopper leave for Real Madrid in the summer transfer window.

However, Barcelona are keen on keeping the 32-year-old at Camp Nou and are hoping to start contract negotiations soon. Madrid’s transfer ban, meanwhile, could keep De Gea at Manchester United until after next summer.

Reports from Italy suggest Genoa are in talks with Guillermo Varela‘s agent over a loan deal and have included a picture in their article, saying it is him meeting Genoa’s president.

Elsewhere, former Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has ruled himself out of the race to replace Louis van Gaal at Old Trafford in news that will come as a devastating blow to supporters.

Rodgers revealed he had no intention of taking over at United, saying: “When you manage Liverpool you know the Manchester United job is gone.”

Ryan Giggs could leave Man United if he is overlooked in the event of van Gaal’s exit. With the Dutchman under huge pressure, Giggs wants to land the permanent role ahead of the likes of Pep Guardiola and Jose Mourinho.

Last but not least, Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has insisted that Cristiano Ronaldo will stay at the Santiago Bernabéu. The 30-year-old has been linked with United and Paris Saint-Germain and reports suggested that he was open to a move away from Madrid.
