Ryan Giggs could quit Manchester United if overlooked in event of Louis van Gaal sacking – report

Ryan Giggs could quit Manchester United if he is overlooked in the event of Louis van Gaal leaving the club, according to the Manchester Evening News.

Van Gaal is under huge pressure at Man United following the 1-0 loss against Southampton last time out and widespread reports this week suggested the Dutchman is considering his future at Old Trafford.

Giggs wants the United job and would be reluctant to serve as a No.2 under the likes of Jose Mourinho or Pep Guardiola again without receiving assurances over his future.

The Welshman is also against the idea of serving as caretaker manager unless it leads to a permanent position.

Giggs is a United legend and the club should do all they can to keep him at Old Trafford as he embodies what they are all about.

However, giving him the manager’s position would be a gamble. With next to no experience at the highest level, there is no guarantee that Giggs would be a success. United need stability right now and it is unlikely that Giggs would provide it.
