Louis van Gaal looking for new home in Cheshire – report

Louis van Gaal is so adamant that he will fulfil his three-year contract at Manchester United that he is looking for a new home in Cheshire with wife Truus, according to the Daily Mail.

Widespread reports this week suggested van Gaal offered to resign as manager of Man United following the 1-0 loss against Southampton last time out, only for Ed Woodward to talk him out of it.

It looked like van Gaal’s tenure was coming to an end but the Dutchman is instead determined to remain in charge at Old Trafford.

The lease on van Gaal’s £5,500-a-month four-bedroom apartment is due to expire shortly but he and wife Truus are happy in the Cheshire village and are looking for somewhere else to live in the area.

Van Gaal’s contract runs until 2017 but it is hard to see him lasting that long if results and performances do not significantly improve in a short space of time.

The veteran coach was booed off after the loss against Southampton and it is clear that patience has worn thin among the Old Trafford faithful. Exiting the FA Cup against Derby on Friday would surely be the final nail in the coffin for van Gaal.
