Hull City closing in on move for Manchester United’s Nick Powell

Hull City are closing in on a loan move for Manchester United midfielder Nick Powell, reports the Hull Daily Mail.

Powell, 21, has been in negotiations with Hull this week and reportedly has clearance to leave Man United.

Having returned from a season long injury lay-off, Powell went back onto the sidelines with a calf injury after what was a promising return back into action with United’s U21s. He also came off the bench a couple of times for the first-team as well.

Seeing as Hull’s boss is Steve Bruce, this is a loan I think would actually work out well for Powell. I’ve been against the idea of him leaving on loan again because he’s already had a couple of spells away from Old Trafford but this one is appealing.

Bruce wouldn’t bring Powell in and simply leave him on the bench without playing him and Louis van Gaal would no doubt be asking Bruce to offer some sort of guarantees for time on the pitch.

As for Powell, game time still remains the single most important thing for him and although I would like him to see him remain at the club in order to get back into the best possible shape, a spell at Hull could be very beneficial.
