Victor Valdes has insisted that he has a “good feeling” after moving to Standard Liege on loan from Manchester United.
Valdes, who had been frozen out at Man United by Louis van Gaal, joined Standard last week.
He will be with the Belgian club until the end of the campaign. Valdes thanked fans for welcoming him and insisted that he will give his best to the club for the rest of the season.
“I am glad I signed for Standard. I am here for a short period of time, but I have a good feeling about Standard. I have been well received and the atmosphere is good,” Valdes said.
“Everyone lets me feel that I am part of the group.”
Van Gaal only made two first team appearances for United during his time at Old Trafford and his spell at the club went down as a resounding failure.
Unfortunately, he was the latest victim of van Gaal’s fiery temper, with the pair falling out over Valdes’ apparent refusal to play for the U21s last term. It didn’t work out at United but supporters will be glad that he will get regular minutes on the pitch for Standard.
