Wayne Rooney continued his good form this year with an encouraging display in Manchester United’s 3-1 FA Cup victory over Derby on Friday.
Rooney opened the scoring for Man United with a superb curling effort after 16 minutes played at Pride Park.
The United captain had a year to forget in 2015 but he has been excellent since the start of 2016. Supporters were quick to praise Rooney for his performance:
Great goal from Rooney and he now has 13 for the season. Suddenly, that target of 20 or more looks increasingly likely.

Must say Martial and Rooney's link up play has been superb at times so far, just need to work on the end product.

Louis van Gaal dropped Rooney to the substitute’s bench for the game against Stoke on Boxing Day earlier this term and the move seems to have galvanised the 30-year-old.
Rooney is back among the goals and he is making a meaningful impact on games.
Of course, Rooney still has to do a lot more, as do United, but it is a step in the right direction as far as he is concerned. He will be hoping to get on the scoresheet again against Stoke City on Tuesday.
