Paris Saint-Germain’s Angel di Maria has insisted he will not be thinking about his “sad experience” at Manchester United ahead of his side’s Champions League clash against Chelsea.
Di Maria joined Man United from Real Madrid in 2014 but he only scored four goals in 32 appearances during his time at Old Trafford.
The Argentine moved to PSG last summer and he has flourished in France, scoring eight goals and registering 10 assists in 18 Ligue 1 appearances.
When asked if he will be thinking about United against Chelsea, Di Maria said: “No. Manchester United was a sad experience. Things didn’t go as I had hoped, I was disappointed and it didn’t help me to rise to the surface.
“Honestly, I don’t even remember anymore what happened and I don’t want to remember. I’m happy to be here and that’s the most important thing.”
Di Maria joined United for a huge amount of money but his attitude at the club stunk and he was deservedly let go by Louis van Gaal.
Unfortunately, it didn’t appear that he wanted to play for United at any point of his time at Old Trafford. It is a shame, as it is clear for all to see how talented he is. United don’t look like they have been put off by the experience, as they have been linked with moves for Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale in recent months.
