With Louis van Gaal confirming that Bastian Schweinsteiger will miss Sunday’s clash against Chelsea due to injury, the Manchester United boss will likely turn to Michael Carrick to operate in the middle of the park.
Carrick produced an imperious display in the 3-0 win against Stoke City last time out and his quality will be needed at Stamford Bridge.
Morgan Schneiderlin, too, will be important in order to keep possession while breaking up Chelsea’s attacks. Both will be hopeful of starting on Sunday:
Marouane Fellaini had been playing in midfield as of late but the Belgian has been disappointing in the role, despite a much improved display against Stoke.
Both players have been in excellent form recently despite their tender age. Martial scored a superb goal against Stoke and he will be looking to do the same in London this weekend.
