Manchester United have named Wayne Rooney as their Player of the Month for January.
Rooney had suffered from some awful form over the course of 2015 but he has hit the ground running since the start of this year.
The Man United captain scored six goals in six games in all competitions in January, including a superb brace against Newcastle United and a memorable winner against Liverpool at Anfield. United recognised Rooney by naming him Player of the Month:

Louis van Gaal dropped Rooney to the substitute’s bench for the game against Stoke City on Boxing Day last year and it seems to have galvanised him.
After such a disappointing year last time around, Rooney is hitting form at exactly the right time for United.
Anthony Martial and Juan Mata, too, have been impressive, particularly in the recent victories against Derby County and Stoke City. Their form will give United confidence ahead of the game against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.
