Man United eyeing move for Atletico Madrid director Andrea Berta

Manchester United could be eyeing up Atletico Madrid director Andrea Berta to join Jose Mourinho at the club.

Gianluca di Marzio’s David Amoyal says Berta’s excellent record at Atletico having joined after spells with Parmoa and Genoa has put him on the radar of Premier League clubs, notably Man United.

A proper football director, not one whose speciality is business, is something the club has been crying out for for some time, so it is music to the ears of fans to think one could in and work in unison with Mourinho.

Speaking about Berta, Amoyal said: “Berta has become the most respected Italian director in Europe, and the Premier League has September Their sights on him.

“While the biggest milestones in His career have taken place in Spain, Berta could be leaving Madrid for England, where he could partner with Jose Mourinho at Manchester United.”

Appointing a man like Berta is just as important as a new manager for United’s long-term success. We’ve desperately needed one for some time and who better than one who has Atletico win La Liga and has had great success in one of Europe’s toughest leagues.

Atletico would not let Berta go easily, that’s for sure, but if the club were to be serious about bringing him in alongside Mourinho, they should try everything within their power to make sure that move happens.

At least we’re hearing the right noises coming out in the media about United. Everyone knows we have to get the whole club structure in place right from the core and a sporting director would go some way to solving our current problems.
