Phil Jones is set to make his return from injury tonight against Norwich City with Manchester United’s U21s.
The defender has been out of action since the start of 2016 after an injury away at Swansea City forced him to be taken off and he has been working individually behind the scenes away from the first-team on his rehabilitation.
Now it looks like Jones is nearly ready to get back into action and we’re all keen to see how he gets on with the U21s but his injury record has taught us not to get excited just yet.
On what seems like countless occasions, Jones has returned from injury only to then find himself sidelined a few weeks later with a separate problem. So far it has completely plagued his career at the club.
Chris Smalling‘s rise to prominence with a full season under his belt has shown us all that we shouldn’t simply write off defenders but we’re all hoping Jones won’t repeat history by finding himself injured once again in a few weeks time.
We’ll bring you an update of how Jones gets on against Norwich City’s U21s.
