The Dutchman’s side drew 1-1 against Chelsea on Sunday as Jesse Lingard‘s goal was equalised by Diego Costa in the closing minutes of the game, although they have now scored seven goals in their last three matches.
Man United have been under heavy criticism as a result of Van Gaal’s ‘dull play style’ but the Spaniard insists the football isn’t boring.
Writing in his weekly blog: “We are improving our game lately, and I’m sure this is the way to get a series of good results in the next few weeks. The team is playing with more determination and confidence, and we want to keep it this way.”
It is massively refreshing to see United play some attacking football with intent over the last few games and the Chelsea match showed me that there’s a real intent to keep that style of play going, even in the big crunch games.

United now head to Sunderland at the weekend off the back of three promising performances and although we are up against it in the race for a top four spot, we’ve still got everything in our hands as we play everybody above us in the league and have some winnable fixtures ahead, starting with Sunderland away who are only four points off bottom.
