Manchester United executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward has said the club will be active in the summer transfer window.
Woodward recently announced revenue for the quarter rose 26.6% to £133.8m and that Man United are set to become the first British club to earn more than £500m in one year.
Talking in his conference today with investors, he implied a big summer of investment may be approaching Old Trafford.
“So far I think this is the biggest window in preparation for the next season, I do think there’ll be more activity in the summer,” he said.
Man United have spent a lot in the last few transfer windows but we’re all well aware that there are still gaping holes in the squad that need to be filled and new signings which need to be made.
The club has got no excuse for not spending plenty because of how strong the revenues are. We might have spent over the last two years but due to so many players who were sold last summer, we spent less than £35m cash.
Nobody knows who will be in charge of United next season but one thing is for sure – there’ll be new players arriving at Old Trafford.
