Marcos Rojo and Antonio Valencia closing in on return for Manchester United

Louis van Gaal has said Marcos Rojo and Antonio Valencia are coming back to action and hopes it will be as soon as possible.

Both Rojo and Valencia have been sidelined for some time having undergone surgeries on a dislocated shoulder and on an ankle respectively.

Manchester United have had huge problems at full-back this season with injuries but van Gaal wants to see them available as quickly as they can return.

Speaking at his press conference ahead of Sunderland, van Gaal said: “The light at the end of the tunnel is more for Rojo and for Valencia. They are coming back and I hope it’s as soon as possible.”

Luckily for United, in our adversity through injury came opportunities for Cameron Borthwick-Jackson and Guillermo Varela who have really shown their worth to the team, particularly Borthwick-Jackson who has gone on to establish himself at left-back.

In terms of our squad strength, having as many available as possible is ideal and it will be good to have some much needed cover in positions because we’ve found ourselves extremely stretched on quite a few occasions this season.
