Manchester United are reportedly lining up a £70 million bid for Borussia Dortmund forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, according to Daily Mail.
The 26-year-old has been in spectacular form this season scoring an impressive 27 goals in 27 games across all competitions, hence why plenty of clubs are being linked with him.
Aubameyang is rated by many as the best centre forward in Europe and has also been linked with a move to Arsene Wenger’s Arsenal.
Mail are also suggesting that moves for Gareth Bale, Robert Lewandowski and Neymar have been cited despite speculation regarding Louis van Gaal‘s future at Old Trafford.
Man United? Big names? Big money transfers? Well it wouldn’t be a normal year if we didn’t get pie in the sky rumours floating around and 2016 looks like no different.
Aubameyang would probably cost £70m in the current market given the inflated valuations of players but whether Dortmund would want to sell at that price is a different matter altogether. Every player has his price but Dortmund probably aren’t willing to let their star player leave unless for an offer they can’t refuse.
We certainly need more inspiration and quality in attack which Aubameyang would bring in abundance but for £70m? That’s a different matter altogether.
