FC Midtjylland midfielder Mikkel Duelund is focused on knocking Manchester United out of the Europa League but has revealed it is his ultimate dream in football to play for us.
The 18-year-old midfielder will likely play against Man United on Thursday when we visit Denmark for the first leg of the Europa League round of 32 knock-outs.
Having supported United his whole life, Duelund isn’t hiding the fact that he would love to call Old Trafford home.
“My only focus is on football and to do my best for the team,” Duelund is quoted by The Mirror.
“I’m not a fan in this situation. I’m a player, who will do everything to beat them. My ultimate dream in football would be to play for Manchester United, but here and now my biggest ambition is to knock out the team I love.”
One recent midfielder who made the move across to United at a young age from Scandinavia was Mats Moller Daehli, the young Norwegian midfielder who excelled in our U18s before surprisingly leaving to join Ole Gunnar Solskjaer‘s Molde FC.
Duelund would love to follow in his footsteps and who know, if he puts in some barnstorming performances in the two against United then he could get one step closer to achieving that dream.
