Sergio Romero has been named in the official Europa League Team of the Week following his excellent display against FC Midtjylland on Thursday.
Romero was only named in the starting XI following a late injury to David de Gea, who hurt his knee during the warm-up in Denmark.
The Argentine did not seem fazed by the unexpected call-up as he pulled off a number of world-class saves over the course of the match. Man United lost 2-1 in the end but it could have been more had it not been for Romero’s brilliance.

The news will be bittersweet for supporters; on the one hand, it is good that Romero put in a superb display following some nervy moments at times this term.
On the other, United as a whole should not have given the keeper so much to do, with the makeshift back four a shambles.
If De Gea is sidelined for a while, Romero will be confident of making the step up after giving himself an excellent platform to build on.
