Manchester United’s Andreas Pereira ‘hungry’ for more following cameo against Shrewsbury

Andreas Pereira has admitted that he is “hungry” for more game time following Manchester United’s 3-0 win over Shrewsbury in the FA Cup on Monday.

Pereira replaced Juan Mata after 65 minutes played at New Meadow and impressed as Man United saw out a comfortable victory.

The Brazilian has struggled for first team appearances this term as Louis van Gaal has been reluctant to drop the likes of Mata and Ander Herrera.

Pereira reportedly wanted a loan move away from Old Trafford in the winter transfer window but van Gaal blocked any deal amid an injury crisis at the club.

United have been crying out for a creative spark at times this season and it is a wonder how Pereira has not had more of a look in, particularly when the likes of Jesse Lingard continue to be included.

Pereira is clearly a special talent and United risk losing him if van Gaal cannot find space for the youngster in his side.
