Rashford, who was only included in the starting XI late on after Anthony Martial picked up an injury during the warm-up at Old Trafford, scored a brace on his senior debut for the club.
Memphis, meanwhile, put in arguably his finest display since joining Man United, terrorising the opposition defence, forcing an own goal, winning a late penalty and scoring in the dying moments of the match. WhoScored awarded Memphis a perfect 10 rating following the game:

United will face much sterner tests in the coming weeks than the one Midtjylland provided on Thursday but Memphis, often on the periphery of things this term, has to start somewhere and he looked full of confidence over the course of the tie.
18-year-old Mancunian Rashford will also be on cloud nine having risen through the youth ranks at Old Trafford.
This has been a season to forget for United but the performances of the duo will give supporters cause to be optimistic about the future.
