Roy Hodgson hoping for Luke Shaw to return from injury in May

Roy Hodgson is hoping Luke Shaw will be returning from injury by May when he has to finalise his England squad for Euro 2016.

Shaw has been out injured since September after suffering a horrible double leg break against PSV Eindhoven and he was not expected to play again this year.

Speaking about Shaw’s potential availability for Euro 016, Hodgson is not yet committing to it or denying it.

Speaking about Shaw, Hodgson said: “We’re still monitoring Luke Shaw – I know he’s making good progress – and we’re monitoring Jack Wilshere.

“Hopefully by May, when I really have to make a decision, they’ll be available for selection.”

That’s some brilliant news for Shaw and I speak for all United fans when I say I can’t wait for him to be back in our starting XI. No player comes near him in terms of what he adds to the game.

As for whether I think it is a good idea he could go to Euro 2016/ Absolutely not. Shaw needs to recover and recuperate all summer in order to allow him to fully work on regaining his fitness.
