Former Manchester United striker Louis Saha believes Everton’s Romelu Lukaku would be a success if he was to move to Old Trafford.
Lukaku, who joined Everton on a permanent basis from Chelsea in 2014, has been in sensational form for Roberto Martinez’s side this season, scoring 18 goals in all competitions.
Man United, Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid are all said to be interested in the Belgian and Saha insisted that he would “fit” in at his former side.
“I have to admit that I rated him highly when he was at Chelsea, when he was young. I could see he was not ready [at Chelsea], but now he has performed really well at Everton,” Saha said.
“And definitely he will bring something to the United side because he is strong, he has got that presence to trouble the central defenders.
“With someone like Lukaku on United’s side, especially his presence around the box, along with (Anthony) Martial playing on the left and (Wayne) Rooney also linking with the Lukaku, it will be great.
“It will be nice to have him at United. In terms of strikers, in terms of options, in terms of diversity and attacking options, Lukaku will be a right fit for United.”
Lukaku would be a quality signing for United and he would add some depth to the squad, which has been ravaged by injuries at points this term.
However, Everton have been known to play hardball over their top assets, as Chelsea’s failed pursuit of John Stones last summer proved. It will be interesting to see who United have lined up, particularly with the uncertainty over Louis van Gaal’s position at the club.
