Zlatan Ibrahimovic insists he is not in talks with any clubs as his Paris Saint-Germain contract nears an end.
The 34-year-old is out of contract at the end of the season and has previously spoken of his interest in a move to the Premier League.
He has scored 136 goals in 166 appearances for PSG since he joined the French side in 2012 but insists his career is only just warming up.
Ibrahimovic’s contract expires at the end of the season, but he said: “My future is I have another two months with PSG, then I have the Euros to play with my national team.
“Whatever happens after that, like it is today, there is nothing after that. I’m not in discussion with anybody because for me it’s not the moment to talk about that.
The striker did, however, teasingly hint he’s already got his next move lined up by adding: “I’m not worried about the future. The future looks good after the season I’m doing. I’m only just warming up”
Ibrahimovic has been linked with Man United and despite being the ripe old age of 34, 35 in October, there are likely to be plenty of clubs who want to sign him up.
We certainly need a new striker. Wayne Rooney‘s on and off form isn’t enough to lead our line any more and although both Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford have shown their goalscoring ability this season, we need more than that if we are to genuinely compete on all fronts both domestically and in Europe.
Will Ibrahimovic be the man to change that? It’s the sort of signing which Ed Woodward would love to complete but I’m sure there will be plenty of people who feel he’s just too old to be investing in. It’s pretty much as short term a signing as we’d get because he’s surely only got one or two more seasons left in him at the highest level at most.
