Manchester United fans criticise Marouane Fellaini following display against Liverpool

Marouane Fellaini put in a disappointing display as Manchester United suffered a demoralising 2-0 defeat against Liverpool in the Europa League on Thursday.

Fellaini, starting alongside Morgan Schneiderlin in midfield, made a minimal impact at Anfield in the first half as Liverpool got in behind time and time again.

Louis van Gaal moved Fellaini into an advanced position in the second period and, while he improved, he was still limited in what he could do against a very disciplined and inventive Liverpool side. Man United fans weren’t happy with the Belgian:

Fellaini wasn’t the only one who was disappointing for United, barely anyone could come away with any credit, save for an inspired David de Gea.

Liverpool had purpose and conviction and you can see the direction that Jurgen Klopp has them going.

United, on the other hand, have stagnated. How bad does it have to get before van Gaal is shown the door at Old Trafford?
