Manchester United or West Ham will play Everton in the FA Cup semi-final after being drawn against each other on Monday night.
If we were to beat West Ham in the replay, it will be a repeat of the 2009 semi-final in which we were knocked out by Everton on penalties.
Having not won the FA Cup in over a decade, this is by far and away our best opportunity to do so but it certainly won’t be an easy game at Upton Park nor against an Everton side who are capable of excellent performances like the 2-0 win over Chelsea in the quarter-final.
On paper, both the quarter-final and semi-final fixtures are tougher than any potential final opponent but nobody is giving us a chance ahead of the West Ham clash, so we’ve got to win that game first.
Crystal Palace and Watford makes up the other semi-final. The fixture date won’t be known until after United’s game against Liverpool on Thursday.
