Manchester United are set to rekindle their interest in Napoli striker Gonzalo Higuain, according to reports.
Higuain has enjoyed a superb season in Italy, scoring 27 goals in 29 Serie A appearances this term.
The Argentine had been on Man United’s radar before but it appeared that Arsenal and Liverpool had moved ahead of them in the race to sign him.
But now, United are considering a summer move for Higuain as they look to inject some attacking impetus into their squad.
United have been awful from an attacking point of view this season, with only Anthony Martial coming away with any credit over the course of the campaign.
The blame for United’s troubles in front of goal this season should lie at Louis van Gaal’s feet. The Dutchman’s turgid style of play has zapped the life out of his players.
