Patrick Kluivert believes Marcus Rashford has similar qualities to the players of Manchester United’s Class of 92.
The youngster scored four goals in his first six appearances under Louis van Gaal and has been a real shining light in the last couple of months at a time where a cloud has been sitting over the club.
Rashford will join up with Keith Downing’s England’s U20s side during the international break to face Canada as a reward for his hard work and Kluivert insists he can go on to have a great future at Old Trafford.
Speaking about Rashford, he said: “All the teams that are coming after the class of 92 will be compared to them, it’ll be difficult for them to live up to those expectations.
“I think Rashford is similar, he’s quick, good in the air, scores easy and was thrown into the team early. He’s got a bright future ahead of him at Manchester United. Louis van Gaal may struggle with experienced players but with young players he is amazing.”
When it comes to youngsters, you never know how good they can be until you give them an opportunity and Rashford is a prime example of that.
He only got his debut through circumstance due to lots of injuries but he certainly made the most of it and although I do think he has played too many consecutive games, I’m loving watching him play.
Nothing beats watching a youngster come through the academy and take centre stage and I can’t wait to see what he can do in the future at United.
