Manchester United vs Man City squad: Fosu-Mensah back in

by Sam Peoples

Timothy Fosu-Mensah is back in Manchester United’s match day squad to face City as well as Adnan Januzaj.

The young defender was ineligible for Man United’s game against Liverpool on Thursday as he wasn’t registered for our Europa League squad but it’s good to see him come straight back in because I’ve been very impressed by his bright start.

In the 18 man squad detailed by the Manchester Evening News, Guillermo Varela has either been dropped by Louis van Gaal after his mistake against Liverpool which let Coutinho score, or he’s injured himself in training.

It wouldn’t be the first time van Gaal has pushed a player straight out of the team because of a mistake and it probably won’t be the last before he is replaced as manager. Whether or not you agree with it is a different point altogether.

Confirmed United squad members (via MEN): De Gea, Romero, Darmian, Valencia, Fosu-Mensah, Smalling, Blind, Rojo, Schneiderlin, Carrick, Schweinsteiger, Fellaini, Mata, Januzaj, Lingard, Memphis, Martial, Rashford
