Sergio Romero has insisted that he is not considering a move away from Manchester United amid rumours that River Plate are interested in signing him.
The Argentinan goalkeeper has made 10 appearances for Man United since joining on a free transfer last summer and featured in the 5-1 win over FC Midtjylland in the Europa League last month.
However, he has found it hard to get in the side over David de Gea, leading to transfer rumours involving Buenos Aires-based River Plate.
When asked about the speculation, Romero said: ”Nobody has talked to me, it came out in the press and that’s it, I am focused on Manchester.”
Romero has had his critics this season but he was superb in the first leg against Midtjylland in Denmark.
United lost 2-1 in what was a hugely disappointing evening but Romero pulled off a string of world-class saves and it would have been more were it not for his efforts. He has proven to be an adequate replacement in the event of De Gea being injured and United should keep hold of him if they can.
