Here is the latest Manchester United transfer news and gossip.

Raphael Varane has hinted that he is unhappy with a lack of game time at Real Madrid amid rumours that Manchester United are interested in signing him. He was strongly linked with a move to Old Trafford in 2011 but Madrid legend Zinedine Zidane reportedly convinced the Frenchman to make the switch to the Bernabeu.

Man United’s need for a new centre-back is nothing new. Chris Smalling‘s rise this season has been magnificent in many respects but with midfielder Daley Blind playing alongside him, there is still a clear weakness in the squad. Over the years we’ve been linked with a host of players including Joao Miranda when he was at Atletico Madrid and now Gianluca di Marzio has once again linked Man United with the Brazilian defender.

Joachim Low is not willing to rule out Bastian Schweinsteiger from playing for Germany in Euro 2016. The 31-year-old suffered another ligament injury this week leading to concerns over whether he might miss the rest of the season as well as the European Championships in France.

Roy Keane has insisted that Zlatan Ibrahimovic is a “really, really good” player amid rumours that Man United are interested in signing the Swede. Ibrahimovic, out of contract in the summer, recently confirmed his intention to leave Paris Saint-Germain at the end of the campaign, with Man United and teams in China said to be keen on him.
