Manchester United’s David de Gea enjoyed an excellent display in Spain’s 1-1 friendly draw against Italy on Thursday, which was capped by a superb save to deny Lorenzo Insigne late on.
Insigne had beaten De Gea earlier on in the game but he was denied a second goal as the keeper tipped his chip over the bar.
Spain eventually earned themselves a draw thanks to Aritz Aduriz’s 70th minute equaliser.

De Gea has arguably been United’s best player for the past two seasons but Spain coach Vincent del Bosque is yet to be fully won over by the keeper.
Instead, Del Bosque has often preferred Iker Casillas in-between the sticks for the national side.
With Casillas’ performances suffering at Porto, it looks as if De Gea will be finally be given the chance to step up. The 25-year-old will be looking to establish himself as No.1 ahead of the European Championships this summer.
