Martial has established himself as one of Man United’s most dangerous players since his summer move from Monaco, scoring 12 goals in all competitions.
Rooney, meanwhile, is currently sidelined having sustained an injury in February. Martial was full of praise for Rooney in a interview with Le Club Liza.
Martial said: “He is truly a good guy, he’s a great player, he is not at all arrogant, he laughs with everybody. I love him.”
A number of United players have come out in praise of Rooney this term and they point to him as a source of inspiration within the squad.
The 30-year-old has certainly proved his leadership credentials as captain of the club but it is his performances on the pitch which have concerned as of late. That being said, Rooney was arguably United’s best player at the turn of the year prior to his injury.
