Rashford has burst onto the scene at Man United having scored five goals in eight games since his debut for the club last month.
Meanwhile, Lingard has grabbed his opportunity at Old Trafford with both hands this season and he put in an excellent performance at No.10 in the 1-0 win over Manchester City last time out. Martial was full of praise for his teammates.
“Honestly they are two very good young players and they have helped us enormously this season and I hope that they will continue like that so that we can finish 4th or 3rd in the league,” Martial said.
When asked if he is jealous of Rashford in the No.9 role, the Frenchman replied: “No not at all, I am very happy for him. He is scoring goals and that is the most important thing.”
Martial’s comments make him seem like an elder statesman of the squad; indeed, his performances and subsequent stature within the team makes it easy to forget he is just 20 years old.
United have had their troubles this term and it has been a season to forget, but there is no doubt that the future is bright at Old Trafford.
