Manchester United will face competition from Porto if they are to complete a deal for Braga midfielder Rafa Silva, according to reports.
Silva has impressed in Portugal this season, scoring nine goals in 34 games.
Man United are said to be keen admirers of the 22-year-old but Porto are also in the race to secure his services.
Louis van Gaal has spent upwards of £250m since his arrival at United in 2014 but it is clear that there still needs to be work done in terms of player recruitment at Old Trafford.
United need to strengthen several areas of the squad but their plans may be disrupted by the rumoured arrival of Jose Mourinho in the summer.
It will be interesting to see if Mourinho has targets lined up, with Renato Sanches, Romelu Lukaku and Zlatan Ibrahimovic all linked to the club in recent weeks. Silva, meanwhile, is undoubtedly a promising talent and he could add some quality depth to the squad.
