Rashford has enjoyed a remarkable rise to prominence this term, scoring five goals in eight appearances since his debut for Man United last month.
Lingard and Martial, meanwhile, have firmly established themselves in the first team having grabbed their opportunities this season. Vidic, who won a number of trophies with United during his playing days, praised the trio and backed them to impress on the club’s pre-season tour of China in the summer.
When asked if tours are important for youngsters, Vidic said: “They’re very important for them to test themselves and it’s important for the club to see if they can play at the top level.
“We’ve seen this year some young players who I think have done well. Players like Rashford, Lingard and Martial are three players I believe have the potential to play for many years for United.”
There has been a distinct sense of doom and gloom surrounding Old Trafford this season amid some poor performances and results but the form of players such as Rashford, Martial and Lingard have given supporters cause for optimism.
While United are in a tough situation right now, the future is undoubtedly bright at the club.
