Manchester United will have a battle on their hands to sign Renato Sanches this summer because Benfica are determined to keep the 18-year-old for another season, according to The Telegraph.
Man United are reportedly preparing a £47m move for Sanches having scouted him extensively over the course of the campaign.
However, Benfica are said to be keen on keeping the youngster for another season as they know his valuation is only likely to increase.
The stance will also serve as a strong negotiation tactic as Real Madrid, Barcelona and Bayern Munich have also registered their interest in recent months.
With Bastian Schweinsteiger injured, Michael Carrick entering the twilight of his career and Marouane Fellaini out of form, United would be wise to inject some pace and power into their midfield and Sanches could provide exactly that.
