David de Gea has been named Manchester United’s Player of the Month for March.
The Spanish shot-stopper was in consistently fine form throughout the month and strangely enough one of his best performances came in the 2-0 loss to Liverpool at Anfield. If it wasn’t for his saves that night, the tie would have been dead and buried going into the second leg.
There is nobody better placed than De Gea to be named United’s Player of the Year for the third consecutive season and this monthly award is the least he deserves.
Writing on their official Twitter account, Man United said: “@D_DeGea collects his #mufc Player of the Month award for March – congrats, David!”

De Gea is almost playing on a different level to the majority of his teammates this season. Had it not been for him since Sir Alex Ferguson left, I dread to think where we’d be now.
Well done Dave for this latest award and I sincerely hope he’s here next year to win plenty more of them.
