Fans’ view: Louis van Gaal out, Zlatan Ibrahimovic in

by Tanveer Arayan

Supporters have intensified calls for Louis van Gaal to leave Manchester United following claims that Zlatan Ibrahimovic is interested in a move to the club if the veteran Dutchman exits Old Trafford.

Van Gaal was already under pressure after a 3-0 defeat against Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday left Man United’s top four ambitions hanging by a thread.

And fans made it clear who they would rather see at Old Trafford after reports on Monday suggested that Ibrahimovic would be keen on a move to Man United if van Gaal leaves:

United have suffered a dismal campaign in which they have exited the Champions League and Capital One Cup early, struggled in the Premier League and only just about clung on in the FA Cup.

Van Gaal’s tactics go against the attacking ethos that United have instilled at the club in years gone by and it is clear that he has to go.

Ibrahimovic, combined with the rumoured arrival of Jose Mourinho in the summer, would give United a fear factor and arrogance that they have sorely missed this season.
