Angel di Maria has revealed that he is “very happy” at Paris Saint-Germain under Laurent Blanc following a difficult spell at Manchester United.
Di Maria joined Man United from Real Madrid in 2014 but injuries and a lack of form meant his time at Old Trafford went down as a failure.
The Argentine joined PSG in the summer and he has gone on to score nine goals and register 11 assists in 24 league appearances for the French side.
“From the beginning [Blanc] was clear where he wanted to play me and has never changed his mind,” Di Maria said.
“He gave me total freedom to move where I needed to move. I’m very happy here and it wasn’t the case over there.”
Louis van Gaal often moved Di Maria around from central midfield to the wing and even put him up front during his season at United.
Van Gaal has continued to tinker over the course of this campaign, as Ashley Young played the second half of the 3-0 defeat against Tottenham Hotspur last time out as a striker. The experienced Dutchman keeps putting square pegs in round holes and it is clear that he is not the right man to lead United forward.
