Manchester United fans were pleased with another solid performance from Timothy Fosu-Mensah in their side’s 2-1 win over West Ham United in the FA Cup on Wednesday night.
The teenager’s stock has grown exponentially in recent weeks after impressing against Watford, Everton and most recently Tottenham Hotspur, where he was Man United’s man of the match.
And his imperious performance against a fierce West Ham side further cemented his status as one of United’s in-form defenders. Fans promptly lauded the Dutchman’s performance:

Fosu Mensah is so ready to play first team football. Move Blind to left back, Darmian right back, S-FM in the middle…👌 #mufc

Fosu-Mensah looks a rare talent

Fosu-Mensah, like so many youth products around him, is moulding himself into this United side with ease. His stature – which bares the look of somebody who has played at this level for years – ensures that the 18-year-old can impose himself on anybody.
And in the Upton Park cauldron, with United under immense pressure, the teenager showed levels of guile and aggression that belied his age.
Even with minutes remaining, as West Ham threw the kitchen sink at United, Fosu-Mensah had the audacity to burst forward, intercept play, and start another attack. Such commitment and fearlessness makes one hopeful for the future.
