Anthony Martial delighted with Man United’s 2-1 victory over West Ham United

Anthony Martial has expressed his delight after Manchester United’s 2-1 win over West Ham United in the FA Cup on Wednesday.

Man United were impressive at Upton Park and opened up a two-goal lead thanks to goals from Marcus Rashford and Marouane Fellaini.

James Tomkins’ goal set up a nervy finish and David de Gea produced a number of excellent saves to deny West Ham late on but United eventually managed to close out the win and seal their progression to the semi-finals of the Cup. Martial was ‘very happy’ with the victory:

Martial and Rashford have had a lot of faith placed in them by Louis van Gaal in recent months and they have both been superb. In tough conditions against West Ham, Martial’s movement was fantastic once again and their defenders found it very hard to stop his runs.

Ultimately it was Rashford who stole the headlines but in terms of who has been our most consistent attacker this season, Martial has by some margin and continues to keep on improving.

Looking ahead, United will go to Wembley to take on Everton in the semi-finals of the Cup and there is no reason why they can’t go all the way and win the competition outright. A nice Martial hat-trick in the semi-final and a Rashford hat-trick to win the FA Cup in the final? Not asking too much…
