David de Gea has been named in the PFA Premier League Team of the Season after a brilliant campaign with Manchester United.
With 17 clean sheets in 34 performances, no goalkeeper has kept it as tight at the back as De Gea in the Premier League in terms of clean sheets and he is pretty much the main reason we’ve got an outside chance of a top four finish.
There have been so many occasions this season where De Gea’s outstanding saves have kept Man United in games and for the third year in succession he is widely tipped to be named United’s Player of the Year as well, something which has never happened before.

Although United made plenty of signings in the summer and saw lots of players leave as well, managing to hold on to De Gea was the best bit of business we did and now we’ve got him tied down to a long-term contract, hopefully he will be here for a bit longer.
It’s been amazing few years of progression for De Gea at United. No longer is he the shy, mild mannered Spanish boy who arrived from Atletico Madrid, he is now one of the world’s best goalkeepers and certainly deserves his place in the Team of the Year.
