There were so many great photos yesterday from Wembley: Chris Smalling losing his marbles amid the celebrations with fans, Anthony Martial being mobbed by fans after scoring the late winner, Manchester born Marcus Rashford and Jesse Lingard embracing after the full-time whistle.
But for me it is this photo of two young reds celebrating which stands out as the best from the win over Everton.
Two young lads making memories they’ll have for life going barmy with another 30,000 United fans watching their favourite players steer United to the FA Cup semi-final. That’s what it is all about, that’s something they’ll cherish and remember.
It felt like United of old against Everton. We were strong in the first half, took control and were by far the better team but we took our foot off the pedal, let Everton back in the game to equalise and were wrecked by nerves until a last gasp winner from Anthony Martial sent fans potty.
After a season of adversity in the third year after Sir Alex Ferguson, it’s a magical moment and just like those two little reds sharing a hug, we all revelled in the madness after Martial’s winner. Bring on the FA Cup final.
