Marouane Fellaini‘s agent Luciano D’Onofrio has revealed the Belgian midfielder would consider a move to Roma this summer.
The 28-year-old Manchester United midfielder has been linked with a move to the Italian side after he was photographed at the Stadio Olimpico last night watching the Serie A clash between Roma and Napoli.
Gazzetta dello Sport suggest Roma are considering a £15million swoop for the midfielder at the end of the season, although their preferred option is a loan deal with the option to buy while Man United would prefer a permanent deal.
Speaking about Fellaini, D’Onofrio insists he would consider the move but added he has not yet been contacted by the club over a potential transfer.
“He was probably there on holiday,” he said.
“For the moment I have no other news. So far I’ve had no contact with Roma for him.
“Would that move be acceptable? Yes, Roma is a possibility to consider.”
Fellaini has proven his worth in certain situations this season but he generally slows the team down and isn’t able to provide anything going forward. If we’re being honest, he’s not a United quality midfielder and wouldn’t be at the club had David Moyes not been in charge.
He did score the opening goal at Wembley and enjoyed arguably one of his best performances of the campaign in United’s 2-1 victory over Everton last week, but it hasn’t changed fan opinion towards him.
There’s no doubt he’ll be looking to keep his place on the starting XI against league leaders Leicester City but the majority of his performances haven’t been noteworthy this season, so it wouldn’t be too surprising to see him drop out back out of the team.
Looking ahead towards the summer, Fellaini is not guaranteed to be here and with Renato Sanches rumours gathering in pace, the big haired midfielder in United’s squad may well not be Belgian next year.
